Issues Behind Central Fairfield Improvement

What Is Happening Behind Central Fairfield Improvement Discussions Behind Closed Doors?

We can only guess. Comments in this and linked blogs postulate based on available facts and rumors.

Is Fairfield Economic Segregation Behind The Central Fairfield Improvement Discussions?
• The Solano Transportation (STA) lacked data on foot traffic and bikes for the area in which sidewalks were going to be placed at huge expense. The sidewalk along the northern part of West Texas Street by the transportation center was taking huge funds while existing sidewalks that are falling apart are neglected.
• It’s claimed there’s no money going to put up the missing street lights. But there's money for laying out sidewalks for where people are hardly walking?
• Tax payers already paid for countless plans and meetings.  Fix Fairfield has limited copies of what the city was willing to share if they claim to have lost the plans.

Members from the Solano Transportation (STA) brainstorm group were friendly but stated their hands were tied. At least the The Solano Transportation (STA) was allowed to offer these meetings on some scale.

These links were mentioned at the meeting but those Fix Fairfield wanted to check out the info were not seen writing down the web site names.

Members Were Suggested To Google:
• 1: “West Texas Street promise”
• 2: “Dog pony show” and “Harry Price”

Inquiries to STA about the West Texas Street promise were directed to other Solano and Fairfield organizations. But Fix Fairfield said those inquiries were made since 1999. A West Texas Street property owner said that requested information has been denied year after year. No clear response was made by STA to these allegations as the committee perhaps had their hands tied.

Ways Fix Fairfield Can Or Does
Bring Ethics & Fairness To Fairfield:

   Community development:
Consensual Fairfield main gateway redevelopment. Empower residents of impoverished areas suffering from biased Fairfield main gateway planning efforts. Free job training.
Activism: Fairfield social protest with a coherent strategy for building power or for making specific social changes.
Advocacy: Speaking for others who are unable to represent their own interest due to fear of retaliation from Fairfield city hall.
Direct service: Free Fairfield conference rooms www.SolanoConferenceRooms.com and Fairfield Virtual Offices ™ www.FairfieldVirtualOffice.com for charitable causes.
• Legal action: Lawyers may become quite important. If Fairfield lawyers
take the center stage, it can push Fairfield grassroots struggle into the background, short circuiting the Fairfield old boy network’s development of collective power and capacity.
• Nonpartisan & partisan problem solving:
Fairfield main gateway brainstorm sessions range of efforts from creating new job opening opportunities and help for start up businesses at www.SolanoBusinessIncubator.com
